Manager of the year

Awards go to Juan Alou and Pudge Fernandez.  Alou led the Cobra to a league best 103 wins (and only 59 losses).

Fernandez led the Texas Gunfighters to 91 wins and a playoff appearance, following a 74 win season in 2013.  Under Fernandez, Texas had the league's best bullpen.

MVP 2014

In each league the award goes to a first baseman who contributed primarily at the plate.  Bay Area's Miguel Cruz hit .330 with 29 homers and 100 RBI, but he fell .001 short of a batting title and one game short of a playoff appearance.

Joe Young takes home the Superior League award, as well as the overall King Lewis II player of the year award.  Young won his record 6th MVP award and his second triple crown.  Joe hit .351 with 37 homers and 120 RBI.  At age 38, he has shown no signs of slowing down.

Cy Young 2014

In the Superior League, Charlotte's Ryan McCloud wins with a 14-7 record and 1.98 ERA.  He only pitched 23 games and 172 innings, but became the first pitcher to finish with a sub 2.00 ERA and 162 or more innings since 1997, when Roger Chillingworth and JoJo Lewis each did it.

In the Major League, Buddy Dervish takes the award thanks to a 19-8 record, 2.66 ERA, and 257 strikeouts.

2014 Rookie of the Year

In a close vote, Boston 2B Jorge Cendejas wins the SL rookie of the year.  He hit .299 with a .373 OBP, and showed some pop with 9 homers and 74 RBI.

David Jackson, acquired in the Ricky Buckley trade, didn't have a regular job with New York but played all around the field and put up some impressive numbers.

In 113 games, Jackson hit .256, hit 21 homers (3rd most on team), and stole 47 bases.  He might be the team's next shortstop if Brett Solo leaves as a free agent.
