Superior League Update

Through games of June 1st.

The west is the best. (Get here and we'll do the rest)

Las Vegas is off to a strong 28-22 start, but that is only good enough for 4th place in a tight western division, 2 games behind Mars. Travis Steele (.647 SLG, 43 RBI) has led the Martian attack. Ryan Ballard (16 HR, 48 RBI) has done the same for Utah. Las Vegas is getting the expected year out of Alvaro Samuel (.322/12/41) and an unexpected one from Rich Javier (.379). Texas has seen the emergence of shortstop Alex Guerrero (.293/7/25).

Sam Robinson recently had his second 3 homer game of the season in a 25-4 bashing of Orlando. Robinson had 5 hits and 7 RBI in the game, and for the season is hitting .308 with 23 homers, and 45 of his 70 hits have gone for extra bases.

Miami's Tim Sullivan missed 4 starts due to injury, but has dominated when able to take the mound. He's 5-0 with a 1.12 ERA, having allowed only 23 hits while striking out 51 in 40 innings.

Another year, more big numbers for Mighty Joe Young. He's hitting .356 with 18 homers, 54 RBI, and a .698 SLG.

Jacen Solo leads the Hawks with 10 homers, and is hitting .332 for the central leaders. Adama Dunn has 17 homers for the 2nd place Isotopes, and Josh Garfield is hitting .362 and already has 27 doubles.

Needing to boost their DH production, the Louisville Sluggers signed Jason Gambini out of retirement to fill the role against righthanders. He's hitting .267 with a homer through 3 games.

Brian Kaat hit for the cycle against the Sluggers, but is having a tough season overall (.248, .301 OBP).
