MLCS: St Louis vs Hawaii

Game 1: Loki Sasaki struck out 12 over 6 2/3 innings, allowing 2 hits and no runs. Mike Law was unscored upon until the 7th when John Branton hit a go-ahead homer. Gerald White III added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly.

Three Hawaii relievers finished the shutout and the Hounddogs took game 1 by the score of 2-0.

Game 2: St Louis took a 3-1 lead into the 8th inning. After Manny Carson Jr scored on a sacrifice fly, John Branton homered to tie the game. The score remained tied until the 10th when Branton hit another homer to win it.

Game 3: Hawaii took a 4-0 lead to the bottom 9th with the greatest closer ever in Cesar Cordero. It should have been easy, it was not. St Louis loaded the bases, Tim Noble forced in a run with a walk, and RJ Lauritzen cleared them with a double.

John Branton was once again the hero, doubling in Carson in the 10th for the go-ahead. Pete Clark saved the game in the bottom of the 10th.

Game 4: Branton homered again as Hawaii scored 4 in the third, however St Louis got 4 back in the bottom of the inning with homers from Lauritzen, Adam Yates, and Vince Murphy. The bullpens battled until the 12th inning.

Vaughn Henderson singled to lead off the inning, stole second, moved to third on a single, and scored on Luis Garcia's single. Kevin Ribaudo pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the inning to send Hawaii to their first world series in franchise history.

Branton was named series MVP.
