Trade

The Phoenix Autobots acquired LHP Chris Johnson from Toledo for OF Quentin Vance.  Johnson, 25, was awarded 10 million dollars in arbitration, making him a bit too expensive for Toledo.

Free Agents Signed 2-25-2012

For the first order of business, the winning bid for Elven pitcher Buddy Dervish was announced. Once again, the winner was the New York Cobra, with a winning bid of 154.2 million dollars. Brad will pay 77.1 million to the North Pole, and pay the other 77.1 million to Dervish over the next 6 years. Manager Juan Alou is convinced that Dervish does not know how to lose.

Pitchers: Detroit spent only slightly more than New York (156 million) but came up with two top pitchers: Rudy Baker for 5 years, 81 million, and Bjorn Frostad for 5 years, 75 million. Texas resigned Rufus Anderson for 3 years, 39 million. St Louis gets Wayne Gardella for 5 years, 80 million. Utah signed Utah native Jaret Benser for 4 years, 40 million, and also agrees to one year contracts for 2.5 million each with Keith Langford and Jason Baret.

Catchers: Hollywood resigns Yoda Moreno (5/55) and Cleveland signs Humberto Rivera (5/70)

Infielders: NY Knights resign Stuart Johnson 1 year, 9 million. Denver resigns Joey Renseller (5/60) and Ozzie Gaedel (4/50). Jose Isales goes to Cleveland (2/18). Greg Jackson (4/44) stays with Phoenix, and Jerry Ruiz (4/44) moves to the NY Knights.

Outfield: Baltimore signs Sergio Perez for 7 years, 119 million.
