Baltimore Take the East

With a 6-0 win over Miami. Storm Morris pitches 8 scoreless innings as Baltimore takes their 2nd straight Eastern division title. Morris struggled through much of the season but finishes at 14-11 with a 4.44 ERA.

Utes Take the West

With a 5-4 win over Mars, combined with Texas losing 2-1 to Las Vegas, the Utes clinch the Superior League West. Tom Groovine (16-8) gets the victory, and Ryan Ballard hit his 30th homerun.

Baltimore beat Miami on a Dave Cronin extra inning homer, while New York lost in Boston, which clinches at least a tie for Baltimore in the East. New York still holds a 1 game lead over Mars and Texas for the wild card. Everyone else is just playing out the schedule.

Hawks Win Central

The Charlotte Hawks celebrate another central division title with a 7-5 win over Toledo. Bobby Martinez pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 runs to earn his 19th victory.

Baltimore holds a 2 game lead over New York and Utah leads Texas by two.

ML Deadline Deal

Detroit sends last years 1st round pick, 19 year old starting pitcher Ryan Justice (8WX) to Toronto for ace reliever Julio "J-ROD" Rodriguez (14XY) and reserve OF Lew Thomas. Toronto trades perhaps the games best closer to restock their farm system, as Justice becomes their best pitching prospect. Although J-ROD will be a free agent at the end of the year, Detroit felt the need to upgrade one of their few weaknesses for the stretch run and post-season.
