Trades 2-16-08

Miami trades their left side of the infield, 3B Ryan Kashiwada and SS Everett Jimenez, to Toronto for minor league pitchers Jeff Liefer and Rich Feliciano. Our sources say the money freed up from this will allow the Stars to bring back David Lefevre for a 16th season.

In another move made partially for financial reasons, Portland trades Lee Harvey Oswalt to Philadelphia, along with minor leaguers Casey Henderson and Emilio Mendoza, for starter Jong-Soo "General" Tso, top prospects Justin Headley and Zandar Dukakis, and shortstop Orlando Veras.

Portland then uses some of the savings to resign catcher George Kird to a 3 year, 27 million dollar contract.
