2024 World Series

The series will begin tonight in Fenway Park.

The visiting Rabbits are heading to their 6th World Series. They won in 2012 against the Utah Utes. They lost the series in 1991, 1994, 2011, and 2014.

The Boston Beaneaters will head to only their second World Series. Twenty years ago they played the Portland Decepticons and lost 4 games to 2.

Boston is missing one of their key batters, Manny Ortez, and also outfielder Erick Reinfelder. Their dominant pitching staff, however, is intact and ready to go. The Rabbits for the most part have a healthy lineup and bullpen, however their starting pitchers can't take another setback. Clayton Lewis and Jerry Annett were both injured in games 5 and 6 of the previous series and will not be available. Don Barnard suffered an elbow injury late in the season and will miss all of next year after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

That leaves the Rabbits with one guy who has been in the rotation throughout the regular and postseason: Carlos Hernandez, who will pitch game one. Dennis Bellew, who started for most of the year and pitched in long relief, will get the game two nod. For game 3 the Rabbits will gamble big and activate Pat Evans. Evans has not pitched since May 3rd and had no time to build up through a rehab assignment. Game 4 will go to Jeffrey Curry, who pitched well over the last month but missed the entire 2023 season and much of 2024 to injury.
