Game 1

Rabbits Rally Past B's to Claim 1-0 Series Lead

The Denver Rabbits took the first game of the Division Series in dramatic fashion today, topping the Hollywood B's in a ninth-inning, walk-off, 4-3 win. B's right-hander Fozzy Wacha was impressive in the loss. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball.

Trailing by 2 runs in the bottom 9th and facing Hollywood's closer Joe Pinches, the Rabbits staged a comeback. Jerry Godwin homered. George Sheppard singled. Michael Stewart hit a double into the left field gap, and Sheppard was able to score and tie the game.

Chris Walker was the walk-off hero for Denver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rabbits right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was rocking at the end," Walker said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mile Long Stadium in Denver.

Game 2

Denver Tops Hollywood Again, 8-6

The Denver Rabbits moved to within one game of the League Series today, downing the visiting Hollywood B's at Mile Long Stadium by a score of 8-6. Rabbits left-hander Jerry Annett had a strong outing in which he threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Rabbits a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

In the bottom of the fifth, Denver center fielder Jimmy Thomas had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Thomas stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 2-1, Denver. For the game, he was 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times.

Denver took an 8-1 lead into the 9th and hold on despite allowing 3 homeruns and 5 runs in the last inning.

"We maximized our offense today," said Denver skipper Brian Woods. "That makes everyone's life easier."

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Bee Hive in Los Angeles.

Game 3

Rabbits Cruise to League Series with Sweep

The Denver Rabbits appear poised to make a serious run at the Championship Series after a convincing sweep over the Hollywood B's in the Division Series.

It's now on to the League Series for Denver, who won the final game 6-4 and took the series 3-0.

"Everyone's doing their part and things are falling into place," said Denver first baseman Jerry Godwin, who was named series MVP. "It feels like a special year."

For the series, Godwin hit .500 with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Denver Rabbits don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Hawaii Hounddogs - Bay Area Bandits series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The League Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
