MLCS: Denver vs Bay Area

Game 1

Bandits Top Rabbits 6-2 to Begin R3

The Bay Area Bandits powered past the hometown Denver Rabbits, 6-2, in the opener of the League Series at Mile Long Stadium today. Bay Area starting pitcher Anthony Henderson threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Bandits now lead the series 1-0.

Henderson was in the zone all game. He frustrated Denver hitters while giving the Bandits 7 innings of quality work. Henderson threw 108 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 12 punchouts.

Henderson told a Bay Area Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mile Long Stadium in Denver.

Game 2

Rabbits Clip Bandits 7-6 in R3 Contest

In a crucial game, the Denver Rabbits put on their best show, beating the Bay Area Bandits by a final score of 7-6 today. Miguel Cruz went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. Denver and Bay Area are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Michael Stewart, who finished 5th in the MC in stolen bases with 36 in 2024, aided the Denver cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Denver manager Brian Woods.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 at Bandits Park in San Francisco.

Game 3

Road Win Lifts Denver to 2-1 Lead in R3

With starter Carlos K Hernandez leading the charge, the Denver Rabbits defeated the Bay Area Bandits, 7-2, in Game 3 of the League Series today. The right-hander threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball at Bandits Park to help Denver take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Denver used the bat of Michael Stewart to get the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rabbits ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Hernandez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bandits Park in San Francisco.

Game 4

Raucous Bandits Park Crowd Propels Bandits to 8-5 Victory; Series Tied at 2

In a crucial game, the Bay Area Bandits put on their best show, beating the Denver Rabbits by a final score of 8-5 today. Tomas Colon came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters. Bay Area and Denver are now tied at 2 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Eugene Wheeler hit a bases-clearing triple off Chris Townsend in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Bandits in front, 7-5. In addition to the triple, Wheeler had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Bay Area manager Nomad Garciajawa.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bandits Park in San Francisco.

Game 5

Smith Blasts Bandits, Rabbits Take Game 5, 5-4

Denver Rabbits designated hitter Katniss Smith was the difference-maker at Bandits Park today, as she led her club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the League Series. The Rabbits took the 5-4 win over the Bay Area Bandits to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Denver used a timely hit from Michael Stewart to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rabbits ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It was a solid team effort," meowed Smith after the game.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at Mile Long Stadium in Denver.

Game 6

Rabbits Win League Series

Michael Stewart wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named League Series MVP.

The star's Denver Rabbits defeated the Bay Area Bandits by a series score of 4-2 to advance to the Championship Series.

Denver won the final game by a 3-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at Mile Long Stadium. Stewart contributed to all 3 runs. In the 5th inning he drew a leadoff walk, stole 2 bases, and came home on a sacrifice fly. In the 7th he belted a 2 run homer.

Stewart hit .318 with a .348 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 4 home runs, driving in 10 RBI and scoring 7 runs.

"Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Stewart.

The Denver Rabbits will play against the Boston Beaneaters in the next round. Boston won their series against the Las Vegas Gamblers 4 games to 2. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Series finishes.
