Opening Day 2007

There were 3 games in the Superior League today.

Utah defeated Phoenix 5-4. Carlos Merejo had 2 RBI, and Zamuda and Frank Lewis had 2 hits each. Keith Langford was shaky in his first start as an Ute, lasting only 4 2/3 innings, but the bullpen held on, and Henry Rollins earned his first save as the "Saving Ute". For Phoenix, Prince Coleman homered in his debut. Rookie Alex Williams was 0-2 with 2 walks.

New York took advantage of 4 errors to beat Charlotte 5-3. Elladan Corinvar had trouble finding the strike zone with 8 walks, but allowed only 3 runs in 7 1/3 innings.

Sithas Kawasaki led off Chicago's game with a homer, but DJ Werden hit 2 for Springfield. The game went 10 innings, when Eric Hollins won it for the Isotopes with a homer off closer James Rhodes.
