2017 World Series game six

Back in NYC, the Cobra jumped out to a lead over Jason Curry in the second.  With two out, Eddie Walker doubled in Chad White.  Lee Thompson followed with a 2 run homer.  Silvanos Tonka took a perfect game into the 5th when Drew Fenwick homered to make it 3-1.

After a 90 minute rain delay in the bottom of the 6th, Tonka came out despite only throwing 72 pitches.  Manny Olmos set Texas down on 3 groundouts.

David Jackson homered in the 7th to make it 4-1, and NYC went to Todd McCarthy.  He retired the side on just 7 pitches.  Texas kept New York scoreless in the 8th.

Manager George Kird decided to stick with McCarthy instead of using his closer for the 9th.  Jose Santana grounded to first.  Pinch hitter Johnny Lewis worked a walk.  Avery Parkinson hit a grounder to short.  Defensive sub Kevin Hunter flipped to second, and back to first in time for a series ending double play.

David Jackson went 10 for 23 with 4 homers and 7 RBI.  He homered in each NYC win, and was named series MVP.

Manager George Kird wins the title in his rookie year as the skipper.
