2017 WS games 3-4-5

Game 3: Jeff Bowman singled in Chad White to take a 1-0 lead in the second.  Brad Mulhern was dominant after that, allowing one run on 7 hits over 8 innings. Buddy Dervish took a no hitter into the 6th but then ran into trouble.  After Drew Fenwick walked, Texas had 4 consecutive singles to take a 3-1 lead.  Jose Lopes singled in another in the 7th, and Sam Parillo closed out the 4-1 win.

Game 4: Texas brought Pollard back on short rest and he and Pedro Lewis had a scoreless battle through 4 innings.  In the 5th NY Eddie Walker led off with a double, and after a flyout Pollard was worn out and pulled from the game. Reliever Phil Sullivan hit Jeff Linden with a pitch and W Bear hit a 3 run homer.  Pedro Lewis took a 3 hit shutout into the 9th, and NY added 7 runs off the Texas bullpen to win 10-1.  Pedro ran into some trouble in the 9th and Rudiger Rocker got the last 2 outs.

Game 5:

Texas took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd against Hamburg.  In the 3rd Eddie Walker and David Jackson hit back to back homers off Erik Garcia.  Garcia got the first two batters out in the 4th but couldn't finish the inning, giving up 3 runs.  Texas's bullpen held NY from there, but Hamburg did not allow another run through 7 innings.  Todd McCarthy pitched a perfect 8th, and Papelbrad saved the game with a 6 pitch 9th inning. 

New York needs one more win for their first championship since 2008.
