Managerial Change

After a 6-11 start to the season, the Alaska Snow Sox have decided to make a move. Ryne Solo, the teams long-time manager, has been promoted to the position of team General Manager, with Darth Vader assuming the title of President of the Club. The new manager will be longtime veteran 1B (and Autobot) Rewind. Rewind (who only recently retired in 2009 at age 45) formerly played in Alaska during two stints: first in 1988 and then again from 2000-2003). Rewind has the distinction of being the last player to play in the dice era (before 1987), the MicroLeague Era (1987-1996), and APBA (1997-Present).

Rewind expressed excitement and gratitude at getting his first opportunity to manage a team. "I think the Snow Sox have the pitching and hitting to make a run at the playoffs this season. We may have the best 5-man rotation in the game today, and have the top minor league pitching prospect in the world as well. Its time for Reggie Stocker and co. to take the next steps and start playing October baseball."

After losing his debut 6-2 to Denver, Alaska has now run off 6 consecutive victories to get back to .500. With a 12-12 record, Alaska is now in 2nd place, 3 games behind Denver.
