2011 Major League Opening Day

New York 13-1 over Bay Area: Pedro Lewis goes 7 strong for the win, W. Gehrig Bear goes 2-4 with a double off the wall in his first at bat, and reigning MVP Brett Solo goes 3-5 with a HR and 5 RBI's to power New York to the win.

Philadelphia 8-2 over Green Day: Oswalt gets the win, Bulger goes 3-5 with a HR, and the defending champs open up with a win.

Florida 10-4 over Alaska: George White gives up 4 runs in 7 innings, but gets the opening day win anyway. Conn the Barbarian goes 4-5 with 2 Homeruns, and Dan Smith and Mitch Oakenshield also hit homers. Marcus Dulkowski hits 2 homers in the loss for Alaska.

Hollywood 4-2 over Toronto: General Tso gets his first opening day start and gets the win, allowing 2 runs over 6 innings. Elvis Dixon leads off the game with a HR off Stephen Hamburg. Hamburg is a victim of the long ball, allowing three solo Homers (also to new 2B Josh Garfield, and Arnie Medeiros). Jose Burrito gets the save for Hollywood.

Denver 6-3 over Portland: Otto Tingley hits a 3 run homer in the 8th off Darrel Williams who takes the loss. Roger Lewis pitches 7 strong innings, but is victimized by the defense behind him (3 errors). Lewis goes 7-3-3-0-3-5. Ruben Ramirez gets the opening day nod from Big Cheese, and goes 5.2-4-3-3-3-5 and gets the no-decision.

St. Louis 5-3 over Los Angeles: Cody Fett hits a 3-run HR in the 8th off J-ROD to give St. Louis the win. Chris Hamilton also hits a HR, despite solid pitching from LA's Eric Rodriguez in the loss (7-7-2-2-1-5).

Hawaii 5-2 over Detroit: Jared DeMario is strong in another opening day start, getting the win with a 8-6-2-2-2-2 performance, with Troy Lewis pitching a perfect 9th to get the save. Jack Collins and Mike Solar provide the brunt of the offense, each connecting for homers. Collins goes 2-3 with 3 runs and a walk.

Lyman Solo was recently overheard interviewing Penguin opening day hero, Conn:

Conn, you've just hit two homeruns to start the season. What are you going to do next?

"Do? I am going to do what my father taught me - After crushing my enemies, I shall see them driven before me."

What about hearing the lamentations of their women?

"It is but one win and just two homeruns. Now, leave me before I crush you."
