MLCS Game 4

Rematch of Game One starters, Pedro Lewis vs. Rene St. Claire
New York strikes fast and furious in the first inning, Buckley HBP, Solo Walk, Keith Lee 3-run homer. White then walks, and scores on a Jackie Garrison triple...4-0 New York. In the 3rd, singles by Brett Solo, Chad White, Jackie Garrison, and Tim Griffin make it 6-0. Hollywood pulls St. Claire after the Garrison single for Mike Dascenzo, a spot starter who took the place of the injured Willis Brusstar in this series. In the 4th, Brett Solo doubles in Manfred Mueller to make it 7-0. In the 7th, a Jackie Garrison sac fly makes it 8-0. With the 8-run lead, New York pulls Pedro Lewis, rationalizing that keeping him available for a potential Game 7 is the best way to use him. He finishes at 6-6-0-0-2-7. In the bottom of the 7th, Rader puts runners on, and is pulled for Bill Wright. Hollywood scores 2 in the inning. In the 8th, New York gets 3 runs back, highlighted by a Mueller 2-run homer. In the bottom of the 8th, Freddie Benitez comes in and gives 2 runs back to Hollywood to make it 11-4. In the 9th, Manfred doubles home Vern Terrell to make it 12-4. Fritz Jones pitches a scoreless 9th to preserve the victory, and give New York a 3 games to 1 lead in the series.
