Detroit at New York Game 6

Gilbert vs. MazdaHonda. Both teams go with a change for this game, Detroit decides Jermaine Moore's wiffing ways can't be accepted in an elimination game, and sacrifice defense by putting Travis Steele in leftfield, Vandenberg in right field, and slugging lefty Joe Brown at 1B. New York does something similar, playing Johnny Ray in leftfield, since Tim Griffin is injured, and they want to replicate his high batting average and low strikeouts.

In the third inning, Detroit goes up 3-1 on a Joe Brown 2 run homer. In the 8th, they go up 5-3 on a Bob Abuee 2 out 2 run double. New York cuts the lead to 1 in the bottom of the 8th. In the 9th, Detroit brings in closer Don Barkley for the first time in the series to face the top of the New York lineup.

Buckley....HBP
Manfred...NY puts on the hit and run, swing and a miss, Buckley caught in a rundown, tagged out.
Manfred...ground out to second.
Chad...ground out to third.

Series tied at 3
