Rookie awards

Suzuke Mazdahonda wins the Major League rookie of the year award unanimously. He fulfilled New York's expectations with an 18-6 record and 2.70 ERA. Troy Lewis, who saved 18 games for Hawaii, finished second, and Ricky Buckley finished third. He stole 47 bases and scored 88 runs.

Delmon Jefferson edged Alex Williams for the Superior League award. Jefferson led rookies with 29 homers and 84 RBI, and after a slow start (hitting .182 on July 1st) , brought his average up to .240. Williams hit .242 with 15 homers and drew 70 walks. Flame throwing Justin Zoolander finished third. He was 9-10 with a 3.83 ERA and struck out 205 batters.
