Division Series Game 5

 Hollywood vs Portland

Cesar Corona homered in the first off Andrew Clayton. In the top 2nd, Howard Jenkins hit a 2 run homer off Jason Richardson. Portland stretched the lead to 3-1 in the 3rd as Richardson walked the opposing pitcher, then loaded the bases with nobody out, however they only got one run on a Nutkin sacrifice fly.

Hollywood tied it in the bottom of the inning on an LJ Burroughs sac fly and Will Daugherty’s single. Hollywood pinch hit for Richardson in the inning and went to Pat Evans. An inning later they Brought in Rangel.

Rangel walked Ramon Andino to start the 5th. Rangel didn’t allow a hit, but Andino scored the go-ahead run thanks to two wild pitches. Portland added on in the 8th as Vargas singled in Masuda. 

In the 9th, Roberto Gomez sealed Hollywood’s fate with a 2 out, 2 run homer off Joe Pinches. 5 Decepticon relievers combined for 6 2/3 scoreless innings as they won the game 7-3.

Las Vegas vs Toledo

With ace Shawn Finley on the mound, the Las Vegas lineup of death scored 7 runs in the first 3 innings, following the plan of the 1990s Utes.

Michael Rondon led off the second with a homer. After 2 walks, Roberto Vargas doubled in one and Lloyd Braun followed with a sacrifice fly. Next Inning Ken Sanders led off with a homer and Vargas hit a 3 run homer. Finley allowed one run over 6 innings, and 3 relievers combined to get the last 9 outs, giving up just one run.
