Contract extensions

Frank Lewis resigned with Utah for 8 years and 176 million. Lewis, 32 years old right now, is batting .412 to start the season, with a .528 OBP. He may have been able to get even more money on the open market, but wishes to remain in Utah as the team's ballpark and offensive system is ideal for accomplishing what matters most to Frank: Getting on base.

W. Gehrig Bear, 27, signed a record contract for 10 years and 253 million to stay with the New York Cobra. It is widely assumed that this will be temporary, as Mark Crawford will be in position to make himself the highest paid player in the game once the season ends.
