MLCS: Hollywood vs Alaska

 Game 1:

Hollywood hit 5 homers, including 2 from L.J. Burroughs, to win a slugfest 13-7. After an 8-1 start, Alaska pulled to within 2 runs after a 6 run 6th inning. Hollywood was able to pull away after that. Cesar Corona had 3 hits and drove in 5 runs.

Game 2:

Vince MacElheran had 4 hits and 2 RBI, and Matt Johnson went 7 innings, allowing only 3 hits and 2 runs as Alaska evened the series.

Game 3:

Hollywood scored 6 times in the first 3 innings against Sox starter Albert Anderson. Chad Richardson had a 3 run homer. The Alaska bullpen did their best to keep it close, allowing no runs, but Brad Hayes went 7 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 runs, and struck out 8. Joe Pinches handled the final two innings, throwing 47 pitches to close out the 6-3 win.

Game 4:

Cristobal Rangel pitched another gem, throwing 5 scoreless innings with 2 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. He left after 5 due to a 65 minute rain delay. Tim Jacobs allowed only one run for Alaska before also leaving early. Nathan Tabor and Mark McCaffrey pitched 2 scoreless innings each for the B's, as they won 4-0.

Game 5:

Knuckleballer Ken Bebbington had a short leash, and faced only 4 batters in the bottom of the first. Unfortunately, all of them scored, as Hollywood took a 5-0 lead. Peter Fox threw 4 innings in relief to give the Snow Sox a chance.

Jason Richardson struck out 10, allowing 3 runs over 6 inning. In the 8th, Tim McBride hit a sac fly against Joe Pinches to bring the score to 6-5, but Tom Chaisson hit into a double play to end the inning. Pinches stayed in for the 9th and had a 1-2-3- inning with a pair of strikeouts to end the game and send the B's back to the world series.
