All Star Game

Juan Hernandez was named MVP of the All Star Game after pitching 5 scoreless innings to lead the Superior League to victory.  Hernandez threw 69 pitches, allowed 3 hits and one walk, and struck out 4.

Miami's Devan Arceneaux gave his team a 1-0 lead with a first inning homer off Stephen Hamburg.  That was the only run scored until the 7th inning, when Erick Reinfelder and Cale Black homered to make it 4-0.  Arceneaux added another homer in the 8th.

After Hernandez, 4 relievers pitched one inning each to finish the game.  Scott Arroyo and Jason Bowman pitched scoreless 6th and 7th innings.  Wayne Gardella pitched the 8th, and gave up the only run to the Major League when rookie catcher Tom Chaisson homered.  Boston's Ralph Everett pitched the 9th to seal the 6-1 victory. Designated hitter Derek Tufnel, fresh off a victory in the home run derby, went 1-4 with an RBI single.
