Pearce vs. Savage. NY takes a 2-0 lead in the 1st, but coughs up 3 runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by a Rocky Balboni triple. In the 2nd, Balboni hits a 2-run HR to make it 5-2. NY comes right back with RBI singles in the 3rd to make it 5-4. In the 4th, Balboni gets a 2-out RBI single to make it 6-4. Meanwhile, Savage settled down to go 7-10-4-3-1-7. In the 8th, Balboni puts the game out of reach with another HR. Balboni goes 4-4 with 3 runs, 2 HR, and 6 RBI, and Philadelphia wins Game 4 by a score of 8-4. The series is now tied 2-2.
