Herrell signs

Las Vegas agreed to a 6 year contract with arbitration eligible starter Charlie Herrell. The contract will pay him 64.2 million dollars, or 10.7 per season. Last season Herrell, 26, went 9-8 with a 3.84 ERA.

Las Vegas is rumored to be shopping shortstop Kurt Scherman, who hit .286 with 8 homers and 56 RBI last year. He's 34 and has 12.5 million remaining on his contract over the next 2 seasons.
