Class of 2008 Hall of Famers

This year, the voters were kind and 4 lucky individuals were elected for enshrinement in APBA's Hall of Fame. This year, first time candidates John Terry and Chris Abbott were selected along with holdovers Helmut Schmidt and Rugless Odor. Terry and Schmidt appeared on 8 out of the 9 ballots, while Abbott and Odor appeared on 7 out of the 8 ballots. Also receiving the minimum 3 votes needed to remain on the ballot were Rico Cortez (4), Marty LeFleur (4), Paul Hudson (3), Elvin Grbac (3), and Kirby Miller (3). Write-in candidate Drummond Peltier received 3 votes again, but since his career does not meet the minimum requirements (he pitched 1 game), he is not eligible to be placed on the ballot.

In the cases where all 8 voters select a candidate, Big Cheese has the authority to cast a "nah" vote so that nothing is unanimous. The voter who left Chris Abbott off his ballot (whose identity will not be revealed), was interviewed about this omission. "Chris Abbott had a great career but took two years off (1996 & 1997) for his mormon mission. The Utes won Championships in '95 and '98 with him, and '96 without him. In '97, they lost in the bottom of the 9th in game 7 of the World Series. Because of these factors, I decided to take a 2-year waiting period before considering to vote for him."

Congratulations to our new Hall of Famers.

And in record time, the new HOF additions are up on the league web page. John Terry now leads all Hall of Fame pitchers in wins, and Helmut Schmidt is the first infielder elected who had over 300 career homers.

Fat Yoda, you just HAD to sully this fine report. You couldn't leave well enough alone. A REAL reporter, Jeffrey Lamar Lewis, puts a fine article together and you ruin it with your incoherent babbling. Now, rather than go view the Hall of Fame, I am forced to vomit. You are a Fat Yoda, indeed.
