Autobots sign Jackson

Autobots signed SS Greg Jackson, 24, to a 5 year contract worth 62.5 million. Jackson is hitting .268 with 19 homers and 71 RBI, and has taken as many walks (56) as he's struck out.

Greg would have been a restricted free agent after the season, and Phoenix wanted to avoid losing him in a Joey Renseller like bidding war.

I agree with the King. Portland doesn't seem to be showing any ill effects not having Renseller in their lineup this year...

I think Phoenix has lost their mind. $12 million a year for that? Jackson's not even proven himself a .300 hitter. Madness. Sheer madness.

Did someone say Rod Jackson?! Rod's a great up and comer. I like the looks of that kid. A little green, sure, but he packs a whallop!

Jackson's a pretty good player, but he's not worth this kind of money. If that's what it takes to keep him, the Bots should have traded him for a couple of first round draft picks so we can rebuild.
