Pollard signs for 165 million

Texas signed ace Jared Pollard to a 6 year, 165 million dollar extension.  Pollard had been one of the best closers in the league, but Texas tried him as a starter this year with great success.

For the season Pollard went 15-2 with a 1.89 ERA.  He struck out 185 while walking only 20, pitching just enough innings to win the ERA title.  Pollard was under team control through arbitration for two more seasons.  He will make 7.9 million next year, 21 in 2019, and 34 million in each of the next four years.
