Superior League Playoffs, other First Round

Game 1: 4-2 Texas
Johnny Jackson pitches 8 innings, allowing one earned run, and Willie Gomez drives in three.

Game 2: 7-2 Texas
Texas scores 4 early runs off Tim Sullivan and wins easily, but lose leadoff hitter Paul Riley and shortstop Alex Guerrero to injury after a late collision. Riley will be missed, as he had 4 hits in this game, and would not return for the series.

Game 3: 3-2 Miami
Bryan Brooks is wild, walking 7, but effective in allowing only 2 runs in 7.1 innings. Andy Moore hits a 2 run homer in the first, and light hitting shortstop Jim Concepcion drives in the decisive run in the 6th. In the 9th Miami closer Bob Belardi has a scare, allowing 2 singles and then walking Greg Cardonia with nobody out to load the bases. He then strikes out MVP runnerup Mark Crawford, and gets Manny Ortez to ground into a game ending double play.

Game 4: 12-5 Miami
Dave Lefevre gives up 4 runs in the first two innings, but leads 8-4 after two. He settles down after that to earn the win. Brian Kaat has 4 hits, Bubba Lewis scores and knocks in 3, and Damon Nkik drives in 4 as the Stars blow out Texas.

Game 5: 7-1 Miami
Tom Vercetti pitches into the 9th, allowing 4 hits and a single run, while the Stars get 7 runs from a balanced attack from the top and middle of the order. Brian Kaat, Bubba Lewis, Andy Moore, and Damon Nkik each have 2 hits, and Bob Abuee was a hit, 2 walks, and scores 3 times.

Game 6: 10-2 Miami
Eli Moreno homers twice, Abuee, Nkik, and Andy Moore each add homers, and Tim Sullivan shuts down Texas to finish the series.
