3000 Hits

Tony Bambora finally did it, becoming just the 3rd player in league history to collect 3000 hits. It was a blooper to left in the 9th inning off Boston's Jared Baker. Bambora, 39, is hitting a mere .226 going into the game in what will likely be his final season.

The hit watch now switches to Kermit Holmes, who needs 22 more hits to reach 3000.
