NO-HITTER!

21 year old Juan Hernandez of Las Vegas threw the first Superior League no-hitter of the year, a dominant 2 walk, 13 strikeout effort over the Charlotte Hawks.

After striking out the side in the 8th, Juan struck out Ed Klutts to start the 9th. Fidel Duenas, hero of little Havana, made a bid to spoil the game with a line drive to center, but speedy Mickey Tinsley went back and made a running catch. That left Jacen Solo.

Solo popped it up in foul ground, and catcher Monty Harmon sealed the no-hitter. Hernandez, thanks to a double play, faced one batter over the minimum.

First trade of the year

Baltimore improves their rotation by adding 300 game winner Jo-Jo Lewis in exchange for minor league 2B Eddie Walker, last year's first round draft pick.

Joe Young does it again

Earlier this month, Joe Young had 3 consecutive games with 2 homers. We're not sure if this has ever been done before. Today, he hit two more, to give him 39 for the year to go along with 103 RBI and a .350 average.
